Fishing Report- Octobber 2009

This week the anglers that managed to get out were rewarded with some very good catches of Blackfish. Shop regulars John L., Ray G., and Jordan were out near buoy 11b and the brushpile and had nice fish of 8
,7 , and 9, pounds these fish were all taken on green crabs. Chumming with shells of crabs will help put you on the fish.

Striper fishing is really starting to take off now with lots of fiosh reported in the Huntington area up to 28 pounds. Sean and his buddy Jason had fish of 27 and 25 pounds on one night this week. The night tides seem to produce the best fish now.

Local angler Neil d. fished several local Long Island Lakes this week and had several very good catches of Largemouth Bass up to five and a half pounds. The bait that did most damage was a Keitech Swing Impact Swim bait . This bait was rigged weightless with a size 2 /o Gami hook. West Lake in Patchogue long island produced very nice catches in the late morning to early evening hours. The best colors were sexy
shad and pro blue. Campsite is fully stocked with all the colors.when not sold out as these baits are very productive.
