All of us at The Camp-Site Sport Shop would like to thank everyone who made our very first range day a success!

The weather was perfect and it proved to be a great day for shooting.

We’d like to thank the shooters for their patience while we learned how to keep the lines moving smoothly.  We also have to thank all of you for your attention to safety.  You made it easy for us.  Every shooter was a pleasure to work with and some very good groups were shot!  We were happy to see a large number of new shooters attending and it’s always good to see so many ladies attending.  A very special thank you goes out to the parents who brought their children and to the Boy Scouts of America for introducing your children to shooting in a safe and controlled environment.  You made all of us very proud.

The Brookhaven Shooting Range’s accommodating staff went out of their way to help all of us and we appreciate it very much.  They showed us once again what a fine shooting facility they operate.  With covered shooting points and comfortable benches you can really spend all day there without getting fatigued.  Ask us how we know!  Please continue to patronize them and be sure to bring your shotgun out to their Trap and Skeet Fields for another great day of shooting.

The EoTech sighted Bushmaster AR-15s and the ACOG equipped Rock River Arms AR15 proved to be very popular choices.  With their hard hitting accuracy and all day reliability it’s easy to see why.  The new Ruger 10/22s we brought out were another popular choice.  They were getting a bit fouled as the day went on and had a few failures to eject.  I’m sure once they wear in a bit they will run like sewing machines.  The Remington VTR was a pleasure to shoot with its low recoil and attention getting accuracy.  The Konus scope seemed to make it easy.  The Browning Abolt II in .270 WSM was one of the day’s big boomers.  Browning quality and Leupold clarity is a tough combo to beat.  The biggest boomer was the Benelli Nova 12 Gauge.  It was a big attention getter and more than a couple thrill-seekers stepped up to put it through its paces.  The FN SPR was a lot fun and deceptively accurate carbine; all shooters who tried it walked away grinning.  The SAKO TRG-22 equipped with a Nightforce 5.5-22X50 scope is a great looking combo.  It looks like a lot of hype but its consistent performance demonstrates what a purpose built rifle can do.

Once back at the shop the food was great and the company even better.  We talked and sipped our ice cold drinks while reflecting on a great day.  More than one customer left grinning.  We enjoyed sharing our hospitality with you.

We simply must extend a special thank you to The Camp-Site Customers who came out and shared their firearms with everyone.  You’re a big part of what makes The Camp-Site Sport Shop so special.  We appreciate your support and eagerness to help.  Thanks for coming out to our Range Day and being a part of the Camp-Site Team.

We’ll be seeing you soon!
