According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the New York state budget committee voted on a revised budget that repeals the ballistics-imaging (COBIS) requirement from state law. (Those empty shell casings in new handguns) This ruling comes on the same day as a warning from Remington that, if this bill was enacted as law, they would be forced to consider closing their Ilion, N.Y. factory. Fellow New York-based firearms manufacturer, Kimber, also came out against the microstamping bill. We can't afford to lose jobs.
The industry trade group, NSSF says “this is a tremendous victory for law-abiding firearm owners, retailers and manufacturers.” And I agree
